They grew in my back yard when I was little. They have a really long stem, maybe a couple feet long, and when they bloomed they were blooms were bright purple orbs. There weren't a lot of them, seems like only two or three of them popped up, and they were there every year. Please help.
Help, I can't remember the name of this flower!?
They sound like alliums, although there are numerous varieties available. Try 'allium' in Yahoo or google images, there's a wonderful array there and it may just take you back to your childhood. Allium is latin for garlic and they come from the same family as leeks, onions and garlic. x
