I read in "to kill a mockingbird" that is a flower that smells so good
Wich is the flower named Mimosa?
My guess is that Harper was referring to the Mimosa tree that has sweet flowers. But everyone was kind of right, read on for more information than you wanted. :)
The photo that foolnomore linked to is that of a mimosa tree: Albizia julibrissin (Silk Tree). It has fragrant pink flowers. Planted as a landscape tree. It's leaves close at night. The tree is usually called Mimosa in the United States, which is misleading because, although once included in Mimosa and related to it, it is no longer classified in that genus. (To add to the confusion, several species of Acacia, notably Acacia baileyana and Acacia dealbata, are also known as "mimosa", especially in floristry).

There is a catclaw mimosa with sensitive leaves that is widespread through the tropics, but considered a noxious weed in the US and killed. Link 2.
There is the Sensitive briar that has a pink flower. Picture link 5.
Yellow Mimosa is in the genus Acacia, the flowers are yellow, white, cream and red. There are over 1300 species in this genus. Link 4.
Mimosa is a genus of about 400 species of herbs and shrubs, in the subfamily Mimosoideae of the legume family Fabaceae, with evenly bipinnate leaves. Link 5.
Reply:There is a tree call the Mimosa tree, and it gets pink dainty flowers. The leaves are fern-like. I have not heard of a Mimosa flower(besides the one on the tree)

Reply:it is a yellow flower which is used in baking , for decorations on cakes and production of liquors
Reply:The flowers are like small, fuzzy yellow balls. I like the smell. There's another kind with pink balls (sorry) and sensitive leaves - they curl up when you touch them.
