Could anyone tell me the name of this not-so common flower...?

Was hiking, in Mount Banahaw, Philippines and my uncle and I saw this beautiful flower, green leave but the flower is about 8in. diamond shape, 4in in circumference at the base, velvety deep red texture. I dug it up and brought it home and next day, neighbours complained of a foul smell, to my shame it came from the flower, smelt like a dead rat. Just laughed it off and brought it home to the city.

Could anyone tell me the name of this not-so common flower...?
This could be dranuculus (my first guess based on the description)
