The proper name of a flower?

this is the closest i could find to the flower in my yard....but its not it..these are purple..Allium - Atropurpureum. mine is red, and the lady across the street has pink. some one told me it was called "naked lady" but i cant find that name anywhere either. they are self multiplying bulbs and have long green...grass look during the winter. please this is driving me nuts, i want other colors but i don't have proper name.

The proper name of a flower?
spider lily?
Reply:If it is a naked lady it is a type of amaryllis that is unusual in that the flower comes up, seemingly out of nowhere and the leaves come up later. It is also called a magic lily or belladonna lily. You should be able to find a picture if you search for one of those.

The fireworks you mention does sound like a spider lily, but I don't recall seeing any color of spiders except red. Of course there could be other colors that I haven't seen.
Reply:if there's grass there in the winter, then it goes away, then out of nowhere a stem pops up and poof, there's the flower, then I gotta go with the spider flower!...

Reply:Naked Lady is an amaryllis. Cleome looks like exploding fireworks. They are beautiful and easy to grow but they stink something awful.
Reply:Try Allium 'Fireworks'. They come in a variety of colors and look like starburst fireworks
