What is the name of this flower/plant? (Picture Included)?
I'm pretty sure it winter jasmine or Latin: Jasminum nudiflorum It鈥檚 the earliest shrub to bloom in the garden in our climate. Blossoms are scattered from January 鈥榯il March with peak bloom in February. The Chinese name is "Yingchunhua," or the Welcoming Spring Flower, an apt name for this early bloomer.





Winter jasmine is a little mounded plant that grows a couple feet tall with green, arching stems that cascade over walls and embankments, creating a mounded, sprawling form when allowed to grow unimpeded. It has small, lustrous, trifoliate leaves that fall with the first frost. Though deciduous, the green stems give it an evergreen appearance.

I don't believe it's forsythia because that plant only has four petals and yours has six

Reply:Yes I believe it is a Forsythia. Never prune it in the winter or before it flowers because you wont get any flowers that year. Always prune flowering shrubs between 1-3 weeks after flowering. ^^

Reply:That looks like the forsythia bush. They bloom in the spring! Easy to grow but need to be pruned right after blooming as they can get "leggy." They don't have much of a fragrance but are showy. :)
