Have seen it around and looks familiar yet unsure of name. Might be a hibiscus or bromelade.
I appreciate nature, know what I like to see, yet am more the type to say..."Look at that pretty purple flower".
I've artificial (silk) plants in my home that look very real. Don't have have a very skilled "green thumb." I take my silk plants / flowers out on patio few times a year and hose them down, let dry, then place them back in house. I "save" plants by leaving them to others with skilled "green thumb".
